Afghanistan Veteran Reunited With The Brave Dogs That Saved His Life

Sgt. Chris Duke was serving a three month tour in Afghanistan, when he befriended three dogs by the names of Sasha, Rufus and Target. Mainly companions for the soldier during the darker times of their tour abroad, these dogs were not your average canines.

One night a suicide bomber tried to sneak into the barracks where Duke and 50 other U.S. soldiers were sleeping – thankfully though he was stopped in his tracks. Biting and assaulting the bomber, the three dogs managed to stop him entering the barracks, forcing him to detonate outside.

Sadly Sasha didn’t recover from her injuries, but Rufus and Target did. What happened next was a wonderfully heartwarming tale and reuniting old friends.
It’s so nice to see Sgt. Chris Duke be able to do something amazing for the animal that saved his life. Afghanistan is no place for a dog, and it’s certain that Rufus and Target will live much fuller and
safer lives in the U.S. Heartwarming, this is a bond that shows that dogs really are man’s best friend.

If that hasn’t go you scurrying down to the nearest dog rescue centre, then maybe this footage of a dog dancing on its hind legs will. Absolutely adorable.
